Fertility Calculator
If you have periods that are fairly regular and
you are trying to get pregnant, you can greatly benefit from a
fertility calculator. Such calculators can be found anywhere in
downloadable form or online on one of the many pregnancy sites.
They're easy to use, relatively accurate, and you can use one to run
the numbers on your ovulation cycles in about a minute or two. With
the data you will receive from such a device, you will be well on
your way to determining when the best time is to get pregnant.
Fertility calculators work in a very distinct way. They assume that
you have a fertile period and a non-fertile period, which, of
course, every woman has at least once a month. You ovulate
approximately fourteen days before your period, so you need to
figure out how long your menstrual cycle is in order to determine
when you're ovulating and when the best time is for you to become
pregnant.
Assuming that your menstrual cycle starts on the first day of your
period, you need to calculate how long your menstrual cycle is in
order to use a fertility calculator to its full advantage. You
should assume that your cycle ends on the day before your next
period starts. The average length is 28 days, but some women are
have longer or shorter cycles. If you find that your cycles are not
exactly precise, simply average two or three of your latest
menstrual cycles to find your average menstrual cycle length. Once
you've come up with a length for your menstrual cycle, you should
enter in information as to when the first day of your last menstrual
period was and the calculator will give you information as to when
you should expect your next most fertile time to occur.
